About SkiL-Care⢠Padded Mitt Hand Restraints
These SkiL-Care⢠mitten restraints feature a lightweight, comfortable and padded design with a buckle closure and materials designed to enhance airflow. For patients posing a risk to themselves or others, this solution:
- Adds CoolLine mesh to the dorsal surface, which allows for air circulation and visual inspection by the caregiver and prevents unwanted perspiration, helping the patient be more comfortable.
- Includes 3/4-inch thick foam padding on the grip side to help prevent injuries and promote greater comfort.
- Can be used in bed or in a wheelchair.
- Features an easy and convenient closure instead of the cumbersome traditional shoelace ties.
- Reduces a patientās ability to grab and pull out tubes, thanks to two inches of padding added to the palm area.
- Is built to be reused: Simply remove the insert to wash and dry.
- Further limits a patientās arm movements when the tie straps are used.
To Use
The padded mitt restraints fit both left and right hands, with the palm of the hand facing the padding. The back of the hand faces the mesh. The included safety straps go around the patientās wrist in the event staff deems restraint necessary.
SkiL-Care⢠manufactures numerous medical products to assist with patient restraint and protection, including for Ankle/Wrist Restraint, a Heel and Elbow Protector, the Geri-Sleeve and a Heel Float.
