Frequently Asked Questions FAQs
Do bus and train lines also need notification in advance before using a portable concentrator?
Most bus and train lines inside the United States allow passengers to use a POC. When traveling internationally, contact bus and rail carriers before your departure.
When using the AC or DC power supply, will it charge the battery at the same time?
The battery will charge using the AC adapter when it's running at setting 1, 2, or 3. It will only charge on the DC adapter when the unit is off. Respironics does not recommend using the DC charger for the initial charging.
Does the concentrator need to warm up before use?
Yes, it may take up to 20 minutes for the unit to reach the oxygen purity levels for the setting.
Does the flow rate setting need to be set for each use?
No. It will automatically start at the oxygen flow rate used before it was last turned off.
Is there a maximum cannula length I can use with the device?
Yes, a maximum cannula tubing length of 10 feet is advised.
What do the alarms mean?
The unit will alarm when it detects the following: No breath, low oxygen concentration, high breath rate, technical fault, low battery, no flow, depleted battery, or external power failure.
