Medline Qwick Wound Dressings Overview
Qwick Non-Adhesive Wound Dressings have multiple uses due to its wicking technology. Not only do the fibers absorb drainage from wounds, but the fenestrated variants are perfect to hold and absorb fluids when paired with trach tubes, ostomies, or g-tubes. The Aquaconductive Technology (read below) has absorbent layers to pull moisture away from the wound site or tube and store and manage drainage until the dressing is changed.
There are three sizes available with the option of cutting the material to create the optimal shape or size. It is flexible and conforms to the contours of various parts of the body. The Qwick application is simple with only three steps - more information is found below.

Product Information
Aquaconductive Technology
Qwick Superabsorbent Wound Dressing features three layers that provide ideal absorption.
- Bottom layer - is made of a hydrophilic material that draws in exudate and then sends the drainage up to the second layer.
- “Storage Layer” - absorbs wound drainage and keeps it from seeping back into the wound until the dressing can be replaced.
- Top layer - is blue to identify the correct orientation. This layer is not waterproof and wound exudate can potentially leak through it. To keep the dressing in place, users can use a secondary bandage.
