LMA MAD Intranasal Mucosal Atomization Device is an excellent, safe and painless tool for delivering topically administered drugs. The MAD Device delivers a quick mist of medication via the nasal passages. The medication is rapidly absorbed by the membranes in the nostrils and then into the brain and cerebrospinal fluid. This makes the Mad Nasal a great alternative to intravenous drug delivery, such as needles, catheters, or larger droplets, which may run off, rather than being absorbed. This medication delivery unit uses no needles and therefore no risk of needle stick injury.
The MAD Nasal comes with a 3mL syringe for precise dosages. The adapter can be used with syringes you already have.
The MADomizer uses a pump design instead of a syringe. The disposable tips work with a one-way check valve to lower the risk of cross contamination between patients. The glass bottle can hold 200 pumps.

The LMA MAD Nasal is the safe and painless way to deliver medications directly into your patient's bloodstream without an intravenous line. To use, simply fill the syringe with the proper volume of medication and connect the atomizer. Place the MAD Nasal gently but firmly against the nasal opening and briskly compress the syringe plunger.
The medication exits the tip as a fine atomized mist resulting in broad coverage of the nasal mucosal with a thin layer of drug. The medication rapidly absorbs across the mucous membrane into the bloodstream as well as directly into the cerebral spinal fluid of the brain, avoiding first-pass metabolism. This achieves medication levels comparable to injections.
Once in the bloodstream, the medication circulates throughout the body. In the central nervous system, it enters the brain and binds to neuroreceptors exhorting the desired clinical effect and leading to resolution and improvement in the patient's symptoms. MAD Nasal allows for exact dosing, is titratable to effect and can atomize in any position.
