- The powered low-base model (RPL600-2) has an easy hand pendant control to open and close the base legs. With the touch of a button, it closes for a narrow base when moving it into place and then opens to the maximum width of 41 inches for optimal stability when lifting the patient from a bed or wheelchair. The base power functions are located below the boom, making it easy to operate both functions from the remote.
- The manual base model (RPL600-1) has a powered boom but requires the caregiver to use the mechanical lever to open and close the base manually.

In the event that there is total power loss, manual lowering is easy. The Reliant lift actuator is designed with a primary and secondary emergency release. The primary mechanical emergency release retracts the actuator to lift and push down the boom. The secondary emergency release is a backup should the primary release located on the control box is unreachable or not functioning.
