Durafiber™, manufactured by Smith and Nephew, is an innovative dressing for infected and non-infected wounds.
The dressing is made of a gelling fiber that fashions a soft bond when contacting fluid. In addition, the Durafiber™ conforms to the contours of the wound, which safely locks in fluid and prevents the spreading of bacteria.
To ensure a sterile and safe product for use on wounds, each individual dressing is gamma irradiated, which is used to destroy living organisms. Each dressing is also packed in paper poly packaging, which further ensures a sterile product.
