Its fabric border has a high Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate, allowing the site to stay dry. The occlusive barrier protects against viruses, bacteria, and other microbes. It's easy to apply and remove with a nonirritating, noncytotoxic, and nonsensitizing adhesive. This transparent film dressing stays in place for long wear times of up to seven days.

Some models, such as SV30NXT, feature a notch and HubGuard, which enhances catheter stabilization. The HubGuard is an adhesive-backed foam anchor that is gentle on the skin and provides comfort from catheter hubs. This makes it ideal for extended use.
