WideBand Self-Adhering Male Catheter Overview
Bard WideBand Male External Catheters are Condom Catheters manufactured by Bard. The Catheters provide 70% more adhesive area in its 3-inch adhesive width than traditional self-adhering designs as shown in the image to the right. Combined with Bard's patented forward placement of the adhesive, accidental catheter detachment is significantly curtailed. The non-sensitizing adhesive provides a reliable bond to the skin for extra confidence and maximum wear time. Male External Catheters are condom-like devices designed to keep men dry and comfortable. The WideBand External Catheters are placed over the penis and connected to a collection device, usually a drainage bag attached to the leg or a bedside bag. Bard provides a broad selection of latex-free male external catheters to provide improved choices for men to meet individual needs. Bard External Catheters come in a wide array of catheter styles and sizes
WideBand Male External Catheters are manufactured with all-silicone material. Silicone is a material that eliminates the risk of latex-related allergic reactions and helps ensure optimal skin integrity. A key advantage of silicone is that it allows perspiration to evaporate through the sheath. This reduces moisture buildup that may lead to skin maceration and makes the catheter more comfortable to wear. Bard also uses a softer silicone that conforms more closely to the contours of the penis, providing better contact for the adhesive and increased security against accidental detachment. They are 100% latex-free, clear and breathable.
