Aspen Vista Adjustable Cervical Collar Overview
The Aspen Vista Cervical Collar comfortably supports the neck and limits range of motion to encourage healing in the neck and upper spine after a traumatic injury. This specialized neck brace fits snuggly to keep the neck straight as possible to promote healing. Depending on the injury, a physician may direct a patient to wear the collar for weeks or months.
Aspen designed the cervical collar with the patient in mind so they are more likely to comply to therapy. It's super lightweight to not weigh down the neck and the cushiony foam padding against the skin is not only soft it redistributes pressure at contact points, particularly the occipital regions. The foam padding also keeps heat from building up and sweat from causing irritation. The polyurethane foam construction quickly wicks away moisture so that the patient remains cool and dry so that pressure sores are kept at bay. Extensive use will require the foam padding to be cleaned and maintained. The foam is removable for hand washing in mild soap and water. Make sure to thoroughly rinse away soap residue and completely air dry before reapplying into the collar.
A key feature of the Aspen Vista Collar is the one-size adjustable collar means minimal inventory and storage for clinics. Patients receive an initial fitting by the physician so that the collar is adjusted to the proper size. The innovative front dial adjusts the neck height and the front panel has six settings to combine six collars into one. The design also leaves an extra-large access window at the neck for access when the patient has airway management procedures performed. Patients needing a brace with additional immobilization of the thoracic vertebra may benefit from the Vista TX with thoracic extension.

Vista Collar Application Instructions
Bend to add a slight curve to the flexible side panels. Align the patient's head and slide back panel of the brace behind the patient's neck where the hook and loop straps are centered between the ear and the trapezius. Start with the lowest of the six settings and work up as needed when positioning the tracheal aperture at the sternal notch. Do not worry if the chin does not rest in the chin support at this point. Pull out the dial and turn clockwise to increase neck height and position chin. Release the dial when the chin is supported and it will automatically self-lock.
Tightening is the final step. Attach the hook and loop strap on each side while holding the front panel. Peel loop strap, one side at a time while anchoring fingers in the collar. Repeat on both sides to achieve an even fit. Check with the patient if the chin piece is touching the throat and adjust if needed by lifting side panels off of the trapezius muscles.
